Guitar Chord Riffs – Making the Wall of Sound

Lesson two in the online lead guitar lessons series covered basic guitar chord riffs.  Students learned one chord riff by rote and they were asked to learn and practice a second chord progession on their own.  This simple lesson lays a foundation where the new guitarist lays down a wall of sound on tape or CD or mp3, then plays the tape back in later lessons to improvise solos over.

All in all it’s a well thought out lesson plan.  Learn chords from a particular key, teach a progression in that key.  Record the progression, learn the scale of that key.  Solo over the progression using a simplified scale, and then expand the scale to full size and solo some more.  Brilliant lesson plan.  There are more guitar chord riffs on the DVD lesson set, available piece-meal or as a complete course.
