So I’ve been collaborating with a friend on a new set of free online lead guitar lessons for beginners in the hopes that by teaching students a comprehensive end to end lesson about how a lead solo is formed, the new guitarists will be thirsty for more. Lesson one in this series covers electric guitar chords. We cover in the most basic terms possible the fingerings of a major and minor chord using a barre chord technique designed for electric guitar. Other lessons in the series cover scales, progressions, leads, and each lesson adds just the right touch of theory to go with it.
Of course these basic lessons are derived from a more comprehensive online lead guitar lessons DVD set, but I think the approach in the free lessons really should give you a good idea how a novice student can really learn to play the guitar, and know the music theory behind why some things sound good and other stuff just doesn’t.
